![]() Overall, you are going to get your money's worth and have an enjoyable time, for sure. If you are going with extended family, hope to the universe that whoever is getting fast-passes for you gets it for a ride you like because you likely don't have much of a say in anything. If you are going with only other adults, it may be best to make sure that everybody is a fan of Disney - because otherwise it may provide a lackluster experience and it may be better to go to a roller-coaster focused theme park. I think if you are going with children aged 6-12 it could be incredibly "magical" to watch them experience Disneyland, enjoy the rides, meet some of their favorite characters, etc. Is it worth it? That will be up to the individual to decide. Some personalities may not enjoy the long-line waiting, buying tons of merchandise, and the exorbitant prices of tickets (or food inside the park). There's an atmosphere and vibe that is difficult to replicate anywhere else, especially if you are a fan of Disney's entertainment. I mean, they literally infuse the smell of homemade cookies on Main Street. There's an undeniable magic to Disneyland. It was really fun to see the set of the good Place, as well as one of the crash scenes from war of the worlds. On the back lot tour we were able to get off the tram and walk around through some of the movie sets. You can save money and spend the entire day waiting in 70 to 90 minute lines, or you can get the VIP pass and do everything you want. Add to this included breakfast in valet parking, and the VIP pass is a great deal compared to the express pass. Much better food that he would normally get in a park. The buffet lunch was also very impressive. In the entire day we waited less than five minutes in line ever. Even though the VIP pass is supposed to put you into the express line when you were not on the tour, our experience was at the staff lots of VIPs to the front of the line even when they’re not on a tour. We were able to ride all of our favorite rides multiple times. We had a couple of hours before and after our tour to wander the park on our own. Note the weights even in the express lines was 30 minutes for some of the more popular rides. Our tour guide was very nice, and took us on every one of the rides in the park with zero weight. We did the VIP tour and it was incredible! I would highly recommend it if you don’t want to spend the entire day waiting in lines. No fuss, no issues, it was an all around chill atmosphere with everyone enjoying.Īll around 10/10 - if you want a holiday theme park visit this fits the bill nicely. I'd say most guests were masked and in general all around very pleasant. As a quick-tip if you're looking for the Minion holiday popcorn bucket, head to Minion Cafe and get it there, then take the receipt to any popcorn cart to get filled.įor safety stuffs: Security and Vaccine/Negative test checks were easy and quick (though still thorough). Mobile order? Who needs it, if you're hungry just walk up and grab food (well save for some popcorn stands and Starbucks). To maximize the day I'd recommend arriving at park opening, just allows a few quick near walk-ons in the opening hour.įood options a plenty and can be had on a whim for the most part. Really helped make it so you didn't feel like you'd miss anything. The blocks of time for nighttime tree lighting and Hogwarts displays were done very well. While I can't fit on most of the rides at Universal the ambiance and overall feel was awesome to walk around and enjoy. Holiday decorations were plentiful and all around very well done. Overall, a wonderful experience and interesting part of history! Sections smell like bird poop since it is a nesting site. You can purchase both on the boat ride though. No food for purchase on the island, only water, so plan ahead. It’s a steep walk up to the cell house but there is a tram that can take you if needed. The gardens were amazing despite it being January so I can only imagine how pretty they are in full bloom. It took me around 2.5 hours to leisurely explore the nooks and crannies as well as do the audio tour, which was the highlight. You can choose to stay inside the boat or on the deck. The trip over and back is only about 15 minutes but very windy. I signed up for an 11am slot but when I got there at 10:30 they were loading the boat and we ended up leaving at 10:45 so I was happy I arrived early. I’m sure that’s because I was there in the off season (mid-Jan). ![]() Absolutely loved my day here! I bought a ticket online although I could have easily saved the $8 processing fee and bought it at the gate.
